Helping you find joy in life again

Remember a time when life felt easier…

- when joy felt familiar
and you weren’t constantly holding everything together

For many of us women, that sense of ease is gradually replaced by pressure.

Pressure to be capable. Kind. Responsible. Successful.

To be the “good one.”

Over time, that pressure disconnects you from your own needs, your body, and your sense of safety.

How I help…

I'm Joanne Deaker,

I help women gently untangle long-held patterns and reconnect with their inner safety — so they can live with more presence, authenticity, and ease.

Together, we:

  • uncover the root of repeating patterns

  • understand your nervous system responses

  • release stored emotional tension

  • and rebuild trust in yourself

This work isn’t about pushing through change.

It’s about creating safety first — so change feels steady, sustainable and truly yours.

Why this approach is different

Many solutions for moving through life’s challenges focus mainly on talk and follow a one-size-fits-all approach. That can leave you feeling like progress is temporary or surface-level.

I know that real change happens when we work gently with your body, emotions, and nervous system, not just your thoughts.

I also know that:

  • by going deep to the root of your challenges, we can create lasting, meaningful shifts

  • your circumstances are unique, so every step we take is tailored to you

  • with the right tools — ones I will teach you — you can build confidence in yourself and your ability to navigate life.

Through somatic and arts therapy techniques, you’ll learn how to create safety within yourself, release stuck tension, and reconnect with your own wisdom — so joy and ease can return naturally.

‘I am dedicated to helping you feel grounded, empowered, and more fully present in your life.’

I understand because I’ve been there

My training in somatic and arts therapy gives me the foundation to guide this work with care and skill.

But qualifications are only part of the story.

You also want to know you’re working with someone who understands what it means when life feels unfamiliar, overwhelming, or is quietly unravelling.

I understand that place.

I know what it feels like to question:

Who am I now?

When life has become relentlessly busy and you feel exhausted beneath it all.
When relationships you once relied on shift or fall away.
When your beliefs no longer feel solid.
When you realise you’ve been living for everyone else — and aren’t sure what’s truly yours.

I've lived through:

  • a deeply ingrained pattern of self-abandonment - the 'Good Girl Syndrome',

  • the end of a long term marriage & estrangement from an adult child,

  • the deaths of both my parents,

  • the transition into an empty nest

  • major career changes

  • and loss of faith in systems I once trusted

So when we work together, you won’t just be working with a trained therapist/coach, you’ll be working with someone who understands that rebuilding takes courage and that…

Feeling safe within yourself is what allows joy to return.
